Unveiled at IFA 2024, this innovative concept laptop showcases some intriguing features that redefine the traditional laptop experience.
One standout feature is its ability to open and close the lid using voice commands. By simply saying “Hey Twist, open lid,” users can control the laptop’s movements. Additionally, the display can rotate almost 180 degrees, allowing for seamless transitions between laptop and tablet modes with commands like “Hey Twist, enter tablet mode.”
Another impressive feature is the “Free Move” option, where the laptop can follow users around the room using the camera. While it currently doesn’t use face tracking, this feature adds a new level of versatility to the device, particularly in scenarios like presentations or meetings.
Lenovo also demonstrated a panorama photo feature that utilizes the twisting hinge and webcam to capture panoramic shots, which are stitched together using AI. The laptop even has automated lid closure when left unattended.
While the features may seem gimmicky, the tech demos showcased impressive functionality. Lenovo is known for pushing boundaries in laptop design, as seen in past experimental devices like the ThinkBook Plus Twist.
While the Lenovo Auto Twist PC is currently just a proof of concept, Lenovo has a history of bringing innovative devices to market. Hopefully, this unique laptop won’t be the last of its kind.
