The Mac mini is set to bid farewell to USB-A, as reported by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.
Apple users have become accustomed to the gradual replacement of USB-A ports with the slimmer USB-C counterparts. While USB-C offers benefits, the transition can sometimes lead to confusion and the need for adapters.
The Mac mini, which has not seen a significant redesign since 2010, is set for a change this autumn. The updated models will feature Apple’s new M4 chip, along with five USB-C ports, an Ethernet port, an HDMI connector, and a headphone jack. However, the USB-A ports will be absent.
Apple has a “Glowtime” press event scheduled for September 9, where the new iPhone 16 is expected to be announced. The unveiling of the new Mac lineup may happen later in the fall.
