Recent reports from Taiwan’s DigiTimes indicate that Apple has commenced mass production of new MacBook Pro models featuring 14-inch and 16-inch displays, along with M4 Pro and M4 Max chips.
Industry analysts like Ross Young and Mark Gurman also support this claim, forecasting the launch of M4 MacBook Pros later this year.
Although Apple has not made an official statement yet, a vague mention during a recent earnings call hinted at no new MacBook releases for the remainder of 2024. However, enthusiasts eagerly await the arrival of the new MacBook Pros.
The expected timeline aligns with Apple’s typical release pattern, with iPhone announcements usually scheduled for September and MacBook announcements following in October.
Rumors also suggest that the new M4 MacBook Pro models will only offer configurations with 16GB or 32GB of RAM, departing from the previous standard of 8GB.
In terms of design changes, minimal alterations are anticipated for the MacBooks, with an OLED version possibly in development for the future. While Apple aims to make the MacBook Pro thinner in upcoming years, the current 16-inch model remains robust.
Although no specific timeline has been announced for a Mac-focused Apple event, expectations are high for the release of the new M4 Macs before the end of the year.
