The Athena Theatre was electrified this past weekend as Glutonny emerged victorious at Regen 2024, marking the start of a new LumiRank season.
Glutonny Clinches Victory at Regen 2024
Glutonny’s seamless run through the winner’s side, entering as the number 3 seed, was a sight to behold. The Athena Theatre, once home to The X Factor, now proudly hosts the UK’s largest Smash Major.
Despite high hopes for UK contenders like Luugi, Mazebeans, and Bloom4Eva, none made it to the finals, showcasing the immense talent among the 720+ entrants.
Europe’s top-ranked players, including the former number 1 Glutonny, made waves at the tournament. The presence of international players like MKLeo only added to the competition.
Character diversity shone through in the top 8, with a mix of fighters like Greninja, Ridley, Wario, and more. Ultimately, Glutonny’s Wario emerged victorious after an impressive performance on the winner’s side.
With the trophy in hand, Glutonny had a clear message for the audience: “I’m back.” This win, which included victories over the new EU #1 and MKLeo, dispelled any doubts following Glutonny’s transition from the GameCube controller due to health concerns.
