Connections is the latest puzzle game from the New York Times. The game challenges players to categorize a pool of 16 words into four secret groups based on the connections between them. The puzzle resets daily at midnight, each with a different level of difficulty. Just like Wordle, players can track their winning streaks and compare scores with friends.
If you’re struggling to solve today’s Connections puzzle, check out our tips and hints below. And if you still need help, the answers are provided at the end.
How to play Connections
In Connections, players are presented with a grid of 16 words, and the goal is to organize them into four sets of four by identifying the connecting themes. These themes could be related to titles of video game franchises, shades of red, names of chain restaurants, and more.
While some words may seem to fit multiple themes, there is only one correct answer. Players can shuffle and rearrange the grid to help visualize the potential connections.
Each group is color-coded from easiest to hardest: yellow, green, blue, and purple. Players select four words and submit their answers. Correct guesses reveal the theme while incorrect guesses count as mistakes. Players have only four chances before the game ends.
