The Beats Studio Pro noise-canceling headphones now support Apple’s Audio Sharing feature. With a recent firmware update discovered by 9to5Mac, Beats’ flagship wireless headphones can now be connected to an Apple device, like an iPhone, simultaneously with another set of Audio Sharing-compatible wireless earbuds or headphones.
The firmware update, version 2C301, aligns the Studio Pro with the Beats Solo 4 and Beats Solo Buds, which were already compatible with Audio Sharing upon release. All Apple wireless earbuds and headphones using the H-series chip can also work with Audio Sharing. However, there is no equivalent feature for Beats headphones in the Android ecosystem.
While Audio Sharing allows multiple individuals to listen to the same audio content, it diminishes audio quality for both parties and disables features like spatial audio with head tracking.
To check the firmware version of your Beats Studio Pro on an iOS or iPadOS device, navigate to Settings > Bluetooth, then tap the Info button next to your Beats headphones or earbuds. Scroll down to the About section to locate the firmware version.
For Android users, you can find this information within the Beats App for Android.
If you do not see version 2C301 in these locations, connect your Beats Studio Pro to a USB-C power source and keep them within Bluetooth range of your connected device. The firmware update should install automatically.
