HTC, the maker of the HTC Vive virtual reality headsets, announced that its Viverse platform has developed a no-code virtual world builder called Viverse Create. This platform provides creators with tools to design and share interactive multiplayer worlds across multiple devices, including VR headsets, mobile devices, PCs, and Macs.
Viverse Create offers a cross-platform feature that allows users to share their creations without the need for installations, making interactive entertainment accessible to a wider audience. Andranik Aslanyan, head of growth at HTC Viverse, emphasized the platform’s ease of use and ability to create and share virtual worlds with a simple, secure link.
In addition to Viverse Create, HTC recently introduced Polygon Streaming, enabling organizations to incorporate high-fidelity 3D models into their workflows on various devices. This includes smartphones, tablets, laptops/PCs, and XR headsets, further expanding the immersive capabilities of the Viverse platform.
Viverse Create offers two building methods. The first is a no-code tool that allows users to easily compose virtual worlds with assets and media files directly in their web browser. This tool integrates with the Sketchfab library, providing access to millions of 3D models. Additionally, Viverse Create supports the VROID VRM format for importing custom models.
The second method involves PlayCanvas, an advanced game engine-style tool for creating interactive experiences directly in the browser. PlayCanvas supports both no-code and code-based development, offering more flexibility in designing immersive worlds.
Through Polygon Streaming, HTC aims to streamline the delivery of 3D data for assets, reducing bandwidth and processing power requirements. By optimizing rendering based on user interactions, Polygon Streaming ensures a seamless experience across devices, enhancing accessibility to next-gen graphics and interactivity.
