Initially, Samsung’s Galaxy AI tool was only available on flagship phones released in 2022 and later, leaving out phones like the Galaxy S21 FE. However, with the latest August 2024 security update, this feature has now been added to the Galaxy S21 FE, as reported by SamMobile.
Circle to Search is a new feature that allows users to search by circling, highlighting, or scribbling around text or images of interest. This feature enables quick lookups of definitions, related information, and object identification in photos or videos.
The Galaxy S21 FE, also known as the “Fan Edition,” boasts a 6.4-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display and either Exynos or Snapdragon chips. While the device impressed with its strong cameras and powerful specifications at its price point, it received criticism for its battery life and touchscreen performance upon launch.
Among the Galaxy AI features, only Circle to Search was initially available on other Galaxy S21 models.
Similar to Apple Intelligence, Galaxy AI offers a range of artificial intelligence features integrated into Samsung Galaxy devices to enhance features like photography, translation, productivity, and accessibility.
The August 2024 security patch from Samsung is currently being rolled out globally, addressing 50 Android and Samsung One UI security vulnerabilities. Users can check for the update in the phone’s Settings > Software update menu to see if it’s available for installation.
