SNK unveiled the release date for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves during Gamescom Opening Night Live. This long-awaited addition to the 2D fighter series is scheduled for release on April 24, 2025.
Preorders are now open for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Steam, and Epic Games Store. The special edition, available for $60, includes the base game along with Season Pass 1.
New features in the game include a single-player RPG campaign called “Episodes of South Town,” cross-platform functionality, integrated rollback netcode for balanced online gameplay, and extensive character customization options. Players can also create personalized playlists with in-game music.
City of the Wolves marks the first main entry in the Fatal Fury franchise since Fatal Fury: Mark of the Wolves in 1999. The game will launch with 17 playable characters, including iconic fighters like Terry Bogard and Rock Howard, as well as new additions like Vox Reaper. Season Pass 1 will introduce five additional fighters.
The REV system is a key new addition in City of the Wolves, adding a twist to special attacks by introducing a meter that can overheat if filled to 100%. Players must strategize to avoid becoming vulnerable to opponents. The game also offers two gameplay styles: Arcade Style for experienced players and Smart Style for newcomers.
