In August, Google has been making waves in consumer hardware. Last week, they unveiled the highly anticipated new Nest Thermostat and the Google TV Streamer, which replaces the Chromecast line after 11 years. Today, at Made by Google 2024, the tech giant is expected to introduce a range of new smartphones in the Pixel line.
Unlike previous years, this year’s Made by Google event is taking place at the company’s Mountain View headquarters and is set to start at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET on August 13.
To watch the event live, the easiest way is through Google’s livestream, conveniently embedded below.
TechCrunch will be covering the event and providing real-time updates as news breaks.
In addition to new home devices and an updated Google Assistant that will continue to be available on Home and Nest devices alongside the rise of Gemini, Google has teased two new mobile devices: the Pixel 9 Pro and the Pixel 9 Fold. The focus will also be on their generative AI platform, with taglines like, “A (foldable) phone built for the Gemini era.”
Expect to see a lot more of Android 15 at the event, possibly making its debut on the Pixel 9 line along with an upgraded in-house processor. Rumors also suggest the unveiling of the latest Pixel Watch and Pixel Buds Pro.
