Connections is the latest puzzle game from the New York Times. The game challenges you to categorize a pool of 16 words into four secret groups by deciphering how the words relate to each other. Each new puzzle resets at midnight with varying difficulty levels, allowing you to track your winning streak just like Wordle and compare scores with friends.
If you’re struggling with today’s Connections puzzle, check out our tips and hints below. If you still can’t solve it, we’ll provide the answers at the end.
How to Play Connections
In Connections, you’ll see a grid of 16 words, and your task is to group these words into four sets of four by identifying the connections between them. These connections could be related to video game franchises, book series, colors, restaurant names, and more.
While some words may seem to fit multiple themes, there is only one correct solution. You can shuffle and rearrange the words to aid in recognizing the connections more easily.
Each group is color-coded, with yellow being the easiest to discern, followed by green, blue, and purple. Select four words and submit your answer. Correct guesses remove the words and reveal the theme, while incorrect guesses count as mistakes. You have a limit of four mistakes before the game ends.
