Marvelous USA and Xseed Games today announced strategic changes for their organization that will facilitate expansion from their parent company, Marvelous Inc. According to Marvelous, it’s shifting Marvelous USA into the realm of its flagship IP as well as its arcade business. Xseed, meanwhile, will continue to discover and publish third-party titles. This is part of its “more holistic view” towards its Western growth as it moves towards “larger, more ambitious scope of development and budgets.”
As part of the expansion, Marvelous USA will now be responsible for publishing the Marvelous games series, such as Rune Factory and Story of Seasons. It will also provide business and operational support for Marvelous’s arcade side, including the rollout of its new title, Naruto Emblem Battle, to arcades in North America. It will also be part of the anniversaries of the aforementioned game series.
Xseed, meanwhile, continues scouting for third-party titles such as Potionomics and Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin. For example, the studio is responsible for publishing the upcoming games The Big Catch and Moonlight Peaks. According to Marvelous, this strategic shift will free up Xseed Games to pursue promising titles.
Xseed Games held a showcase earlier this year, in which it revealed its upcoming games lineup, including the aforementioned Moonlight Peaks and Potionomics. Other titles (some of which were revealed during Anime Expo in July) including Farmagia (formerly Project Magia), Corpse Party 2: Darkness Distortion and a remaster of Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana.
