CCP Games today revealed its content roadmap for Eve Online for 2024, and the upcoming months hold at least two unnamed expansions in addition to the company’s aforementioned plans. Following last year’s 20th anniversary celebration, the company is putting its efforts into new themes for the game. These include identity and agency, strong organizations and the future of war, according to today’s director’s letter.
The two expansions launch in the summer and winter respectively, and currently do not have titles or explicit content plans. However, in the director’s letter, they say both will be “a shift of focus towards null security space and increasing the rich opportunities presented to capsuleers there.” CCP will also add more options for customization and expression, as well as “further strengthen player bonds through corporations and fleets.”
CCP says that there will be new events and quests in the game leading up to the summer expansion, foreshadowing large changes to come. As the team says, “What we can say is exciting new technology and resources will give players the opportunity to build and customize their space in nullsec, creating new conflict drivers and objectives.”
The roadmap also reveals that CCP Games will hold several playtests for Eve Vanguard, the upcoming first-person shooter module that takes place in the game’s universe. They’ll happen regularly in each quarter and will be open to Founders’ Access users. The roadmap also includes regular events, including a Capsuleer Day in Q2, as well as the recurring Crimson Harvest event in Q4.
