SOULM8TE, a new film set in the M3GAN universe, has officially cast its leading star.
According to Deadline, Lily Sullivan has been chosen to star in SOULM8TE. She will portray an artificially intelligent android purchased by a man to cope with the loss of his wife. Initially designed to be his new companion, the AI android gradually transforms into a deadly soulmate instead of a harmless lovebot. SOULM8TE is characterized as a 1990s erotic thriller infused with a technological twist.
Sullivan, an Australian actress, gained popularity with American audiences through her role as Beth Bixler in Evil Dead Rise. Her credits include Monolith, I Met a Girl, and Picnic at Hanging Rock.
Announced in June, SOULM8TE marks the first spinoff from Atomic Monster and Blumhouse’s M3GAN. Kate Dolan, best known for directing You Are Not My Mother, will helm SOULM8TE. Dolan has revised the original script by Rafael Jordan, inspired by a story by Jordan, James Wan, and Ingrid Bisu.

SOULM8TE is scheduled to hit theaters on January 2, 2026.
