WolfEye Studios, an indie developer formed by former Arkane Studios veterans, gave a sneak peek of their upcoming game on Thursday. The game is described as an action RPG with a retro sci-fi aesthetic, blending the visuals and gameplay of Fallout and Dishonored.
Studio president and co-founder Raphael Colantonio, a co-founder of Arkane, recently mentioned on X (formerly Twitter) that the game will appeal to fans of Dishonored and Prey. The screenshots released showcase robots and machines with a gritty and clunky design, reminiscent of Fallout’s Atomic Age style.
Speaking in a press release, Colantonio stated, “Fans of my previous games like Dishonored and Prey will feel at home, as well as RPG enthusiasts in general.”
Colantonio and co-founder Julien Roby shared more insights about the game in interviews. Colantonio compared the game to a mix of Fallout and Dishonored, leaning towards the RPG side, much like Prey.
The upcoming game is a first-person action RPG set in an alternate 1900s America, specifically in the Old West. It promises to be an immersive sim, allowing players to tackle objectives in various ways, a feature seen in Arkane’s previous titles like Dishonored and Prey.
Currently in full production and in search of a publisher, the game is offering players a chance to sign up for a private alpha test on the studio’s website, scheduled for 2025.
Though details are limited, the game’s concept is shaping up to be a blend of RPG elements from Fallout and Dishonored, offering a unique gameplay experience in a familiar yet fresh setting.
WolfEye Studios is comprised of ex-Arkane developers, carrying forward their legacy of immersive sims from previous projects. Fans can expect more updates and teasers on social media, building anticipation for the upcoming title.
