Exciting news from Epic Games as they announce a major shift in Fortnite battle passes – they will no longer be exclusive! In the past, skins from battle passes would disappear forever once the season ended, creating a sense of urgency for players to purchase them. Skins like Omega would only return in a different form.
However, moving forward, battle passes will still be available for purchase, but the skins will no longer be exclusive. If you miss out on a season, you will have the opportunity to obtain the skins at a later date.
A Game-Changing Update for Fortnite Battle Passes
The decision to make Fortnite battle passes non-exclusive is a monumental shift in the game. For 30 seasons, players had to purchase the battle pass to access exclusive skins like Carbide, Iron Man, The Mandalorian, and more. Missing out meant missing out forever. That will no longer be the case.
Epic Games inadvertently brought back the Paradigm skin to the Item Shop, indicating a change in their approach. Leaks suggest that all battle pass skins will eventually be released for purchase. However, there are some caveats to consider.
Firstly, skins will not return to the shop for at least 18 months after the season ends. When they do become available, they will come at a higher price point – costing 1,200-2,000 V-Bucks per skin. Additionally, it is uncertain if all cosmetics from the original battle pass will be reissued.
It’s important to note that this change will only affect future battle passes. Skins from past seasons will remain exclusive. Starting from Chapter 5 Season 4, all battle pass skins will be accessible to all players, regardless of when they purchase the pass.
