Renowned games industry veterans and developers Zoher Toutanji and Roberto Schiavulli have joined forces to establish Chamo Games, a new gaming studio based in Malmö, Sweden.
Specializing in a physics-based shooter with a unique European perspective, Chamo Games is currently in the final stages of developing its first playable build, after swiftly growing its team from just two founders to a remote workforce of 25 members in the timeframe between September 2023 and March 2024.
Breaking Boundaries in Game Development
CEO Toutanji expressed, “Chamo Games is not just a studio; it is a close-knit community committed to creating groundbreaking gaming experiences. We are excited to unveil our upcoming project that challenges traditional genre boundaries,” in an interview with VentureBeat.
Furthermore, creative director Schiavulli added, “Our diverse team shares a common goal of elevating the standards of PC and console gaming. Our initial project promises a unique blend of skill and entertainment, guaranteeing a gaming experience that is both captivating and rewarding.”
The leadership lineup at Chamo Games includes CTO David Lind, executive producer Stephanie Pecaoco, lead game designer Bastian Wendzinki, and art director Sylvia Dybiec, alongside founders Toutanji and Schiavulli.
Though specific details remain confidential, Chamo Games has secured investments from notable backers like Lakestar, Sisu Game Ventures, and Griffin Gaming Partners, who share in the studio’s commitment to innovative and purposeful game development.
