South Korean gaming company NCSoft raked in ₩368.9 billion ($268.3 million) in revenue during the second quarter of 2024, with 59% of this revenue coming from its mobile games portfolio.
Out of this, mobile revenue amounted to ₩218.2 billion ($158.7 million), showing a 13% decrease from the previous quarter due to strategic business adjustments and decreased revenue from some Lineage titles.
Lineage M stood out as NCSoft’s top-grossing mobile game in the quarter, bringing in ₩107 billion ($77.8 million), a slight increase from the previous quarter. However, revenue for this title declined compared to the same quarter in the previous year.
A Continual Legacy
Revenue also dipped year-on-year for Lineage W and Lineage M2 on mobile, with a quarter-on-quarter decline as well. Lineage W took the second spot in terms of revenue, while Lineage M2 followed in third place for Q2.
On the PC platform, Lineage experienced sales growth in Q2 2024, showing a positive trend compared to its mobile counterparts.
International Reach and Quarterly Performance
NCSoft’s total sales for Q2 2024 were ₩368.9 billion ($268.3 million), with a decrease both quarter-on-quarter and year-on-year. Sales in Korea and overseas both declined by 7%.
Although operating profit decreased, net income saw a significant boost, marking NCSoft’s best performance in over a year. This turnaround in profit comes after a substantial decline in 2023.
