Social First has received the new funding round led by Crowberry Capital, a Nordic venture capital firm, along with initial pre-seed investor Play Ventures. Business Finland, the Finnish government’s innovation funding organization, has also contributed to this financing.
The funding will be allocated towards the development of their debut product, an innovative social sandbox MMO that aims to revolutionize the social gaming landscape. The game has already undergone testing with a substantial player base.

CEO Kim Soares, pictured alongside president Mikko Kähärä, emphasized the evolving role of games as essential social platforms for today’s youth.
“Our objective is to go beyond creating a mere social game; we aspire to establish a pivotal social platform for millions of players to foster valuable relationships,” Soares stated.

Hekla Arnardóttir, Founding Partner at Crowberry Capital, commended the Social First team’s expertise and commitment, citing their impressive performance during early releases as evidence of their profound understanding of social gaming.
The company, now consisting of 20 industry veterans from renowned studios like Ubisoft and Rovio, aims to launch the game in early access by the year’s end.
