Zynga’s newest mobile game, Game of Thrones: Legends, has surpassed $1 million in gross revenue within 11 days of its global launch, with its most profitable day being August 4th.
According to AppMagic data, the match-3 title has generated a total of $1.04 million, including earnings from its soft launch. It made approximately $282,000 during the pre-release period and an additional $758,000 since the global launch.
Defending the realms of match-3
On its global release date, July 25th, Game of Thrones: Legends brought in $24,366 in revenue and has shown daily growth since then, with an exception on July 29th when revenue dipped to $59,887 from $62,491 on July 28th.
The daily revenue growth has picked up since then, with Game of Thrones: Legends earning $109,627 on August 4th – more than four times the revenue generated on launch day.
The largest share of revenue, 47%, comes from the US, followed by France at 12% and Australia at 8%.
Furthermore, nearly one million players have downloaded the game according to AppMagic data, with a total of 938,696 installs to date.
In the game’s launch trailer, Game of Thrones star Kit Harrington showcased the in-game mechanics, RPG elements, and fan-favorite characters.
Thanks to a licensing agreement with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, Zynga has recreated characters from the HBO series in the game, providing a familiar experience for fans of the show.
Characters from different parts of the A Song of Ice and Fire universe, such as Jon Snow and Rhaenyra Targaryen from House of the Dragon, are featured in the match-3 game.
