Connections is the latest puzzle game from the New York Times. The game challenges players to categorize a pool of 16 words into four secret groups by identifying how the words are related to each other. The puzzle resets daily at midnight with varying levels of difficulty, allowing players to track their winning streak and compare scores with friends, similar to Wordle.
If you’re struggling with today’s Connections puzzle, check out our tips and hints below. If you still can’t solve it, the answers are provided at the end of the article.
How to play Connections
In Connections, you’ll see a grid of 16 words and your goal is to organize them into four sets of four by identifying their connections. These connections can range from titles of video game franchises to shades of red or names of chain restaurants.
Although some words may fit multiple themes, there is only one correct answer. Players can shuffle and rearrange the grid of words to better visualize potential connections.
Each group is color-coded, with the yellow group being the easiest to solve, followed by green, blue, and purple groups.
Select four words and click Submit. If correct, the words will be removed from the grid, and the connecting theme will be revealed. Incorrect guesses count as mistakes, with only four mistakes allowed before the game ends.
