Developed by Mintrocket, this high-octane multiplayer title is set to make a big impact in the competitive gaming scene. What is Wakerunners?
From the creators of the award-winning game, Dave the Diver, comes Wakerunners. This top-down multiplayer game is set in a variety of smaller-than-usual arena-based maps. The short trailer from Mintrocket showcases a fast-paced, punchy, and highly energetic game, with vibrant colors, exciting character models, and a unique gameplay loop that sets it apart from the competition.
It combines elements from other popular games and seems to do so quite effectively. At first glance, it shares similarities with League of Legends, but the interchangeable and swapping hero characters give it an Overwatch vibe. You can watch the trailer here.
Following the success of Mintrocket’s most recent project, Dave the Diver, which has received a rare 10/10 rating on Steam with an ‘Overwhelmingly Positive’ ranking from 83,065 reviews, there is reason to believe that Wakerunners will also be a hit.
Wakerunners is available for wishlist on PC, with a demo set to be released on February 5th. During the demo period, players will have the opportunity to try out various characters and game modes, including Control Conquest, Team Deathmatch, Command Siege, and Raider Mode.
While the operating model for Wakerunners has not been confirmed, it is expected to be a free-to-play title supported by seasons and microtransactions. Additionally, it appears that it will be exclusively available to PC players.
