The period between CES and MWC has historically been a busy time for new hardware announcements. It seems that big companies are no longer saving their major news for large events, as the hardware season now spans nearly the entire year.
In the past, Samsung split its major announcements between CES and Mobile World Congress, but now the company has moved its flagship mobile news to standalone events. This year, Samsung Unpacked is returning to the U.S. just a week after CES, where the latest flagship, the Galaxy S24, will be unveiled at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET.
Based on leaks and rumors, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is expected to feature a new flatter display, a four-camera array with a halved 10x telephoto, and a titanium frame similar to the iPhone 15. AI is also expected to play a big role in the announcement, with the incorporation of third-party generative AI on-device.
One specific AI feature that has been rumored is the new “Circle to Search” from Google, aimed at making search engine access even more accessible. It is likely that Samsung will also announce the standard S24 and S24+ options, along with additional hardware.
