Samsung’s development of the Samsung Galaxy S25 comes as no surprise, given the company’s annual flagship releases. What is surprising, however, is the early confirmation of the upcoming device during the latest earnings call. The confirmation not only acknowledged the S25 series but also revealed some of its specifications.
In the earnings call, Samsung MX Vice President Daniel Arujo expressed, “We’ve consistently upgraded the hardware in our S Series to deliver industry-leading experiences to customers, and we’ll continue to enhance key experiences as well upgrade hardware so that we can offer top performance.” He further added, “For camera and display specs in particular, where we’ve been leading, the S25 at launch will have top-of-the-line upgrades. And we’re also preparing industry-best APs and memory to boost AI performance and offer an overall premium experience.”
While expectations of a top-of-the-line processor and industry-leading camera and display specs are typical for flagship phones, the confirmation does validate some early rumors about the S25.
The indications suggest that the S25 Ultra will be the device Arujo is referring to. Previous reports on Samsung’s camera technology hinted at the S25 Ultra featuring a 200-megapixel primary rear camera, along with other impressive camera specifications.
Speculations also point towards the S25 Ultra being powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip with Qualcomm’s Oryon CPU. Additionally, the Galaxy S25 and S25 Plus may feature Samsung’s in-house 3nm Exynos 2500 processor.
Furthermore, Samsung’s commitment to advancing AI is evident with its plans to acquire Oxford Semantic Technologies, a U.K.-based AI firm specializing in knowledge graphs.
Although Samsung’s early disclosure about the Galaxy S25 is interesting, it doesn’t reveal anything groundbreaking. More concrete information on the Galaxy S25 specs is expected to surface as the year progresses, especially after the official announcement of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 in October.
