Threads has revolutionized how users explore trending topics on the platform.
Adam Mosseri, the head of Instagram, announced on Tuesday that users in the U.S. now have access to a new feature that highlights related trending topics above posts. By tapping on this label, users can discover more posts related to a specific topic, with options to filter by “Top” and “Recent” posts in a new window.
Expressing his hopes for this new feature, Mosseri stated on Threads that it aims to make it easier for users to find relevant posts and engage in meaningful conversations.
The testing of trending topics on Threads began in the U.S. back in March, with the feature becoming available to all U.S. users a month later.
Instagram has been experimenting with various ways to help users discover content tailored to their interests. For instance, the company recently introduced a multi-feed experience on its desktop interface similar to TweetDeck and is currently testing a similar feature on iOS for a select group of users.
A Threads spokesperson informed TechCrunch that these tests aim to enhance the user experience by providing customizable feeds and the ability to follow topics relevant to individual interests.
