Connections is the latest puzzle game from the New York Times. The game challenges players to categorize a pool of 16 words into four secret groups by discovering how the words are related to each other. The puzzle resets daily at midnight with varying difficulty levels. Similar to Wordle, you can track your winning streak and compare scores with friends.
If you’re struggling with today’s Connections puzzle, check out our tips and hints below. If you still can’t solve it, the answers are provided at the end.
How to Play Connections
In Connections, you are presented with a grid of 16 words, and your goal is to organize these words into four sets of four by identifying the connections between them. These connections could be related to video game franchises, book series sequels, shades of red, chain restaurant names, and more.
Some words may seem to fit multiple themes, but there is only one correct answer. You can shuffle and rearrange the words to help visualize potential connections better.
Each group is color-coded, with yellow being the easiest to solve, followed by green, blue, and purple groups.
Select four words and click Submit. If correct, the words are removed, and the connecting theme is revealed. Incorrect guesses count as mistakes, with a total of four mistakes allowed before the game ends.
