Connections is the latest puzzle game from the New York Times. The game challenges you to categorize a pool of 16 words into four secret groups by understanding how the words relate to each other. Each new puzzle refreshes at midnight with varying difficulty levels. Similar to Wordle, you can track your winning streak and compare scores with friends.

How to play Connections

In Connections, you’ll see a grid with 16 words, and your goal is to organize them into four sets of four by identifying the connections between them. These connections could be related to video game titles, book series sequels, shades of red, chain restaurant names, etc.

Some words may fit multiple themes, but there is only one correct answer. You can shuffle and rearrange the words on the grid to help identify potential connections.

Each group is color-coded, with the yellow group being the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple.

Select four words and click Submit. If correct, the words will be removed from the grid, revealing the connecting theme. Incorrect guesses result in a mistake, with only four allowed before the game ends.
