Anticipation was high, and now we have some exciting developments. An influential leaker hinted at Samsung’s upcoming release of the first One UI 7 update beta, and now screenshots and photos have emerged.
Shared by SmartPrix, these new images confirm that the upcoming software update for Samsung Android devices could be a significant one, with many changes seemingly drawing inspiration from Apple’s iOS.
One notable change is the updated appearance of stock app icons in One UI 7, including apps like Camera, Theme, Dialer, and Contacts. The icons will now have a more 3D look with the use of gradients and shadows. Additionally, widgets are expected to undergo changes that resemble the aesthetic of Apple iOS 18.
According to SmartPrix, One UI 7 may also introduce significant design changes to the camera UI, potentially relocating main controls to the bottom for easier access. Furthermore, Samsung is planning to introduce a pill for system apps on the home screen, reminiscent of Apple’s Dynamic Island.
In addition to these changes, Samsung is enhancing task continuity by enabling seamless call transfer between Galaxy devices with a simple gesture. One UI 7 is also expected to feature rounded design elements, smoother animations, and a two-page notification panel similar to Apple’s iOS approach.
One UI 7 is expected to complement the release of Android 15, introducing new features like enhanced Bluetooth controls, improved notification management, and enhanced connectivity options. While the two software updates will be closely related, Samsung may stagger the release of One UI 7 and Android 15 by several weeks.
We are eagerly awaiting the first beta release of One UI 7. Exciting times ahead!
