GSC Game World announced today that it is delaying the launch of Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl from September 5 to November 20 to address unexpected bugs. The Ukrainian team has faced multiple delays, partly due to working during the Russian invasion.
The statement reads, “We know you might be tired of waiting, and we truly appreciate your patience. We are always grateful for your ongoing support and understanding — it means the world to us. We’re just as eager as you are to finally release the game and for you to experience it for yourself.” A developer deep dive video is also planned for August 12.
Originally slated for a 2022 release, Stalker 2 development was paused in early 2022. GSC Game World hinted at a 2023 release window and was recognized by the PC Gaming Show as the “most wanted” PC game of 2024.
