Apple Maps has finally launched on the web, marking a significant expansion for the service.
Currently in beta, Apple Maps on the web is compatible with Safari and Chrome browsers on Mac, iPad, as well as Chrome and Edge browsers on Windows PCs. Apple has stated that additional browser and platform support, along with non-English languages, will be added gradually.
Interested users can access Apple Maps on the web here.
Prior to this release, Apple Maps was only accessible through Apple devices. The web launch now opens up the service to a much wider audience.
Currently, Apple Maps on the web provides driving and walking directions, with upcoming plans to include public transportation, cycling, and Look Around, an equivalent of Google Street View.
The beta version also features detailed information on stores, restaurants, and bars, along with the ability to order food directly through the Maps platform.
Users can access satellite, standard, and hybrid views of locations worldwide, along with the option to link out to Apple Maps from other websites.
Since its initial launch in 2012, Apple Maps has come a long way from its rocky start, now providing a strong alternative to Google Maps.
