Samsung has halted shipments of its latest flagship wireless earbuds, the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, due to concerns about the fragility of the included silicone eartips. There have been reports of tearing when users try to change sizes. Preorders for the earbuds began on July 10, with an initial release date set for July 24, which has now been postponed. Samsung’s website now indicates a delivery date of August 28, and Amazon has removed its listing for the product.
In response to the issue, Samsung issued a statement to Android Authority on July 19, expressing regret for the inconvenience and ensuring customers that improvements are being made to the quality control processes:
Samsung is taking the reports seriously and is committed to maintaining high quality standards. Delivery of Galaxy Buds 3 Pro devices has been suspended temporarily to conduct a thorough quality control evaluation. Customers who already have the earbuds and experience issues are advised to contact Samsung or visit a Samsung Service Centre. — Samsung
The Galaxy Buds 3 Pro features a new design that resembles Apple’s AirPods Pro, marking a departure from Samsung’s previous earbuds. Despite the similarity, the use of silicone eartips is not new for Samsung, as previous models like the Galaxy Buds Pro and Galaxy Buds 2 Pro also utilized similar eartips.
