We’re approaching the finals season in the esports world, with the highly anticipated VALORANT Champions set to kick off in Seoul, South Korea on August 1st. However, fans have been left disappointed as they have encountered consistent error messages while trying to purchase tickets for the upper bracket finals and the grand finals, ultimately missing out on seats.
Issues with Ticket Purchases
The reasons behind these error messages remain unclear and with no official statement from Riot Games or Interpark, the ticket operator, it’s uncertain whether the issue will be resolved in time. Fans on the VALORANT Competitive subreddit have reported problems such as seats selling out instantly, glitches during the purchase confirmation process, and IP address blocks.
Tickets for the VALORANT Champions event are being sold through Interpark, a South Korean-based site that handles various national events, from concerts to sports events. Both Korean and international fans using the Korean and Global versions of the site are facing similar ticket purchase issues.
The problems with ticket purchases started during the presale period and have continued into the general sale, resulting in many fans missing out on tickets on both days.
About VALORANT Champions
VALORANT Champions serves as the pinnacle of the competitive VALORANT season. This tournament marks the 3rd S-tier VALORANT event to be held in Asia and the first in South Korea.
So far, only four teams have officially qualified for the event: Paper Rex, Fnatic, FunPlus Phoenix, and EDward Gaming. Five of the 16 participating teams will qualify based on points, while the remaining teams will need to compete in regional qualifier tournaments. With Gen.G Esports expected to join the line-up after their impressive performances at VCT Masters Madrid and Shanghai, the competition is shaping up to be intense.
As the premier event in the VALORANT calendar, we hope for a smoother fan experience once the event kicks off, especially considering the absence of VALORANT from the ongoing Esports World Cup in Riyadh.
