Connections is the latest puzzle game from the New York Times. It challenges you to categorize a pool of 16 words into four secret groups by deducing how they relate to each other. The puzzle resets daily at midnight with varying levels of difficulty, and like Wordle, you can track your progress and compete with friends.
Solving each day’s puzzle can be tricky. If you’re having trouble, check out our tips below. And if you still need help, the answers are provided at the end.
How to play Connections
In Connections, you’ll see a grid of 16 words, and your goal is to group them into four sets of four based on the connections between them. These connections could be related to video game titles, book series, colors, or more.
Although some words may seem to fit multiple themes, there is only one correct answer. You can shuffle and rearrange the words to help visualize the connections better.
Each group is color-coded, with yellow being the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple.
Select four words and click Submit. If correct, those words will be removed from the grid, and the connecting theme will be revealed. Guess incorrectly, and it counts as a mistake. You have four mistakes before the game ends.
