- Zenless Zone Zero has achieved a remarkable milestone, reaching 50 million downloads within just three days of its launch.
- Despite the impressive download numbers, data from AppMagic indicates that the launch of Zenless Zone Zero was not as financially successful as Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail.
HoYoverse’s Zenless Zone Zero has soared past 50 million downloads in under 72 hours after its release, as confirmed by the company.
The new RPG has also generated $24.6 million in revenue across the Apple App Store and Google Play Store in its first five days, surpassing the combined earnings of Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail in the same time period.
While Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail failed to make it to the top 10 revenue generators list for the week, Zenless Zone Zero secured the eighth spot within just five days, positioning itself ahead of popular games like Brawl Stars.
The revenue report by AppMagic only includes earnings from Apple App Store and Google Play Store, excluding any revenue generated on PC or PS5 for Zenless Zone Zero.
A Success Story Continues
Of the total revenue of $24.6 million from Zenless Zone Zero, 51% came from China, followed by Japan at 25% and the US at 8%.
In comparison, consumer spending for Genshin Impact is dominated by Japan at 34%, followed by China at 28% and the US at 13%, mirroring the spending patterns across the HoYoverse trilogy.
Although Zenless Zone Zero has achieved record-breaking pre-registrations and early downloads, its initial revenue falls short of its predecessors in the same time frame.
In comparison, Genshin Impact earned $35.3 million in its first five days, while Honkai: Star Rail raked in $55 million during the same period.
Despite this, Zenless Zone Zero’s $24.6 million in revenue in five days is still a significant achievement, surpassing the initial earnings of other popular games.
“Success with Eager Anticipation”
The developers of Zenless Zone Zero express their gratitude for the overwhelming support and success of the game in a recent statement.
To mark the milestone, all players were gifted 1,600 Polychrome, the premium currency in Zenless Zone Zero, used for acquiring new characters.
