The Fortnite Summer event 2024 has kicked off with the arrival of Magneto in the latest update. But there’s even more to discover with the All Sweat Summer event. Alongside some adjustments to Ranked mode, the Fortnite Summer event has officially begun. This season’s theme is All Sweat Summer, offering a unique twist compared to previous events while still offering the usual free rewards for players to collect. Curious about what’s new and how to unlock everything for this Summer event?
What’s New in the Fortnite Summer Event?
The Fortnite Summer Event 2024, known as All Sweat Summer, is now live. Although it may be smaller in scale compared to past events, there are still several exciting changes to explore.
The highlight of All Sweat Summer is the special challenges. This questline consists of 20 unique challenges that, upon completion, unlock free cosmetics such as a back bling, wrap, and glider, all with a Summer-inspired theme. While these rewards may not be as exclusive as rare Fortnite skins, they are still a valuable addition to your collection.
To obtain these cosmetics, players can choose from a variety of quests and achieve rewards based on the number of quests completed:
All Sweat Summer Rewards
- Water Levels Wrap – Complete 10 Quests
- Summer Sail Shark Glider – Complete 15 Quests
- Deck Ducky Back Bling – Complete 20 Quests
Now, let’s take a look at the quests available in the Fortnite Summer Event 2024 to unlock these rewards. The quests this year offer a more flexible approach compared to previous events, allowing players to complete various challenges in increments towards their goals.
- Eliminate Players
- Reach Top 50 in Zero Builds
- Reach Top 50 in Battle Royale
Each of these quests can be repeated across different tiers, providing players with a more engaging gameplay experience as they progress through the challenges.
Changes to Ranked
As part of the update, Ranked mode in Fortnite has undergone changes for the Summer event 2024. Epic Games is experimenting with a new approach to Ranked, introducing separate loot pools that align more closely with tournament rules rather than traditional gameplay.
During the event, Ranked mode will feature a modified ruleset, resembling tournament play with the following adjustments:
- No Cars
- No Nitro Fists
- No Hireable NPCs
While bosses and medallions remain, the removal of cars and unconventional items brings Ranked mode closer to the competitive experience seen in Fortnite tournaments. This change reflects player feedback and aims to provide a space for practicing gameplay elements relevant to Fortnite esports. Time will tell if this adjustment becomes a permanent feature, offering players a more authentic competitive environment in Ranked mode.
