Connections is the latest puzzle game from the New York Times. The game challenges you to categorize a pool of 16 words into four secret groups by identifying how the words relate to each other. The puzzle resets every night at midnight, and each new puzzle varies in difficulty. Similar to Wordle, you can track your winning streak and compare scores with friends.
Some days pose more challenging puzzles than others. If you’re struggling with today’s Connections puzzle, check out our tips and hints below. And if you still can’t solve it, the answers will be provided at the end.
How to play Connections
In Connections, you will see a grid of 16 words, and your goal is to organize them into four sets of four by recognizing the connections between them. These sets could revolve around concepts like video game franchises, book series sequels, shades of red, or chain restaurant names.
Although some words may fit multiple themes, only one answer is completely correct. You have the option to shuffle and rearrange the words on the grid to help identify potential connections.
Each group is color-coded, with the yellow group being the easiest to solve, followed by green, blue, and purple.
Select four words and click Submit. If correct, those words will be removed, and the connecting theme will be revealed. An incorrect guess counts as a mistake, and you have a maximum of four mistakes before the game ends.
