Ahead of the Fourth of July holiday weekend, Nintendo is offering a free seven-day trial of Nintendo Switch Online to all Switch owners. This trial is available to both new users and those who have previously had a subscription or participated in a free trial.
Nintendo Switch Online provides features similar to PS Plus or Xbox Game Pass Core, including online play in games like Splatoon 3 or Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, cloud backups for game saves, exclusive discounts, game trials, and access to retro game libraries. During the trial period, users can also purchase Game Vouchers to get two first-party Nintendo games for $100, with the condition that they must be used before the trial ends.
While access to Game Boy Advance, Nintendo 64, and Sega Genesis libraries requires the paid Expansion Pass, the seven-day trial grants full access to the NES, Super NES, and Game Boy libraries. Some recommended titles from these libraries include The Legend of Zelda and StarTropics on NES, Donkey Kong Country and Earthbound on SNES, and Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins and Kirby Tilt ‘n’ Tumble on Game Boy.
This refreshed offer of a free trial for Nintendo Switch Online comes just in time for the holiday weekend, allowing players to start the trial today as long as they do not have an active individual or family membership.
