The seventh-anniversary celebration of Garena Free Fire has officially begun, offering players a month-long celebration with themed rewards, limited-time activities, and a nostalgic trip down memory lane.
As of June 26th, players can enjoy classic features from the early days of Free Fire, including a miniature version of Bermuda Peak named Mini Peak, and classic weapons from the game’s history.
Free Fire and Free Fire Max have collectively surpassed $4 billion in revenue. The original Free Fire contributed $3.4 billion, while Free Fire Max generated $615.7 million, as reported by AppMagic data.
Top Spending Regions:
Over its seven-year history, the US has been the top revenue-generating region for Garena Free Fire, with $1.3 billion in combined spending on Android and iOS. Brazil follows with $510 million, and Thailand with $274 million.
In terms of Free Fire Max spending, players in India lead with $326.3 million, followed by the US with $104.7 million and Thailand with $43.1 million.
Despite facing a ban in India in 2022, Free Fire returned to the app stores in September 2023.
While Free Fire saw a peak in revenue during the pandemic, reaching $123.9 million in August 2021, the game’s monthly revenue has decreased significantly, with $23.3 million in May 2024. Free Fire Max brought in $20 million during the same period.
This anniversary celebration aims to bring back the nostalgia of earlier times and introduce players to new features, such as weapon adjustments, in-game optimizations, anniversary gift boxes, and a new first-person mode in Clash Squad.
Additionally, Garena has partnered with Kadokawa Corporation to produce an anime adaptation of Free Fire, set to premiere in Japan before a global release.
