Fortnite Reload Duos Added in New Update
The new Fortnite mode now includes Duos in addition to Squads, continuing with the reboot mechanic where players get a second chance as long as a teammate is alive. However, adjustments have been made to accommodate smaller team sizes.
Here’s how it works:
- Players will still reboot upon death.
- Reboot timers will start at 12 seconds, increasing up to 16 before being disabled.
- Players can decrease reboot timers by engaging in combat with other Duos.
- 2 seconds are removed for downing opponents.
- 3 seconds are eliminated for eliminating them entirely.
- 5 seconds are subtracted for taking out an entire Duo team.
Epic has noted that these initial timings may be subject to change based on performance and player feedback. The essence of the game mode remains the same, offering a unique mini-Battle Royale experience where players can respawn until the game’s conclusion, followed by a traditional Battle Royale finale. The loot pool is more classic, and the map features reworked Chapter 1 locations, providing a refreshing change from the current Fortnite meta.
The addition of Duos to this new mode is a welcome development, showcasing the strength of player numbers to support diverse game formats. Fortnite Reload appears to be a permanent fixture, and it will be intriguing to see its evolution in the future.
