Every time a new Grand Theft Auto game is released, it immediately becomes the talk of the town. Just like its predecessors, GTA 6 is expected to break all sales records once it hits the shelves. With the official announcement of GTA 6, fans are eagerly awaiting more details about the game. Apart from the storyline and gameplay, one burning question revolves around when and where PC players can expect to enjoy GTA 6 once it’s released.
Will GTA 6 be on PC?
Yes, GTA 6 will eventually come to PC, but not right at the launch. Currently, the game is confirmed for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. As history suggests, PC players may have to wait a while. GTA 5 took around a year and a half to arrive on PC, while Red Dead Redemption 2 took a year and a month. It’s uncertain if Rockstar will expedite the process for GTA 6, but at the very least, PC players may have to wait for approximately a year.
According to a former Rockstar developer who talked to IGN, the delay in the PC version release is attributed to sales priorities. The developer mentioned, “The reason why a PC port comes later is because they want to prioritize what sells. Most of the time, especially in the past, PlayStation was the big seller.” Additionally, the developer highlighted the technical challenges of adapting the game to various PC configurations, which requires extensive testing.
If GTA 6 sticks to its late 2025 release window, PC players may have to wait until the end of 2026 or the beginning of 2027 for the PC port to be ready.
