Connections is the latest puzzle game from the New York Times. The game challenges players to categorize 16 words into four secret groups by deciphering their relationships. The puzzle resets nightly at midnight, with varying levels of difficulty. Similar to Wordle, players can track their winning streaks and compare scores with friends.
If you’re struggling with today’s Connections puzzle, check out our tips and hints below. And if you still can’t solve it, the answers are provided at the end.
How to play Connections
In Connections, players are presented with a grid of 16 words and must organize them into four sets of four by identifying the connections between them. These connections could be based on categories like video game franchises, book series sequels, shades of red, or chain restaurant names.
While some words may seem to fit multiple themes, there is only one correct answer. Players can shuffle and rearrange the words to help visualize the connections better.
Each group is color-coded, with the yellow group being the easiest and the purple group the most challenging.
Select four words and click Submit. If correct, the words will be removed from the grid, revealing the connecting theme. Incorrect guesses count as mistakes, with only four allowed before the game ends.
