If you’re a frequent traveler, you’re familiar with the frustration of trying to access your streaming services on a hotel TV. Samsung aims to ease this struggle by introducing Apple AirPlay support to Samsung Hospitality TVs.
Imagine wanting to unwind by watching your favorite show before bed or keeping the kids entertained in the adjacent room – connecting your own devices to a hotel TV can be complex. With wireless AirPlay connectivity, guests can easily stream content from their Apple devices to compatible TVs in their hotel rooms, no need to enter credentials onto the smart TV interface.
Samsung assures that the connection process is secure, with guests simply scanning an on-screen QR code to pair their Apple device with the TV. No personal information is stored, and pairings are automatically erased upon checkout.
While AirPlay is exclusive to Apple devices, including iPhone, iPad, and Mac, once connected, users can mirror their screens or stream content from supported apps like YouTube and Netflix. A great way to enhance your viewing experience while traveling.
AirPlay support will initially be available on Samsung’s BU8000 model Hospitality TVs running Tizen 7.0 or later OS, expanding to other models over time. While compatibility might vary, hotel guests lucky enough to have a compatible Samsung TV can look forward to seamless AirPlay functionality.
All Samsung TVs sold to consumers from 2019 onwards, and some 2018 models, already support Apple AirPlay 2.
