Which season of Fortnite are we currently in? With the various game modes offering multiple seasons simultaneously, it can be a bit confusing to determine the current season across the board.
In the main game mode, Battle Royale, we are currently in Chapter 5 Season 3. The other modes, having launched at the beginning of Chapter 5, are not as far along in their respective seasons. Here is a breakdown of Fortnite’s current season status.
Current Season in Fortnite

As of now, Battle Royale is in Chapter 5 Season 3, marking the 30th season in total! The first chapter consisted of 10 seasons, while Chapter 2 saw only 7 seasons before transitioning to fewer seasons per chapter. Currently, we experience four seasons per chapter with occasional unique additions like the Chapterless mini-season, Fortnite OG.
While this marks the 30th season in Fortnite’s history, it is referred to as Chapter 5 Season 3. The current season will run until August 16th, after which the next season will commence.
However, Fortnite is more than just Battle Royale in 2024. Additional seasonal content is available in the game as follows.
Fortnite Festival Season

Fortnite Festival Season 4, featuring Metallica in Fortnite, is currently underway. This festival season is scheduled to conclude on August 16th, aligning its end date with the Battle Royale season for this iteration.
Fortnite Lego Updates

While Fortnite Lego does not adhere to official seasons, it receives consistent content updates. The game mode offers permanent content expansions, unlike seasonal rotations, allowing players to access and replay past content without time constraints.
For Rocket Racing and Fortnite Reload, seasonal divisions are not explicitly designated. Updates and themed content drops continue regularly, but are not classified as traditional seasons in the game.
In Ranked mode, the season concludes alongside the Battle Royale season, offering the same seasonal refresh for player ranks and progression. Keeping track of the various Fortnite seasons in different game modes can be a challenge, but the current lineup is set to run smoothly until August.
