Connections is the newest puzzle game brought to you by the New York Times. This game challenges you to categorize a pool of 16 words into four secret groups by uncovering how the words are related to each other. The puzzle resets daily at midnight, with varying levels of difficulty. Just like Wordle, you can track your winning streak and compare scores with friends.
Some days may pose more of a challenge than others. If you’re struggling with today’s Connections puzzle, take a look at our helpful tips and hints below. And if you’re still stuck, the answers for today are provided at the end of this post.
How to play Connections
In Connections, you’ll encounter a grid containing 16 words, and your goal is to organize these words into four sets of four by identifying the connections between them. These connections could revolve around topics like video game franchise titles, book series sequels, shades of red, or chain restaurant names.
While some words may seem to fit multiple themes, there is only one correct answer. You have the option to shuffle the word grid and rearrange them to help visualize potential connections.
Each group is color-coded, with yellow being the easiest to figure out, followed by green, blue, and purple groups.
Select four words and click Submit. Correct guesses will remove the words from the grid and reveal the connecting theme. Incorrect guesses count as mistakes, with a maximum of four mistakes allowed before the game ends.
