Introducing Strands, the latest daily puzzle from the renowned New York Times. A more challenging twist on the traditional word search, solving this puzzle requires sharp observation skills.
Similar to popular puzzles like Wordle, Connections, and the Mini Crossword, Strands can present a formidable challenge on certain days. Don’t hesitate to seek assistance when needed. If you’re stuck and seeking the answers to today’s Strands puzzle, take a look at the solved puzzle provided below.
How to play Strands
To kick off each Strands puzzle, your objective is to uncover the “theme words” concealed within the grid of letters. Rearrange the letters by dragging or tapping to form words; double-tap the final letter to confirm. Upon identifying a correct word, the letters will be highlighted in blue and become unselectable.
Even non-theme words are beneficial. For every three non-theme words of at least four letters each that you identify, a hint will be provided – revealing the letters of a theme word that you must unscramble.
Every letter on the grid contributes to spelling out the theme words with no overlap. Each letter is used exactly once.
Each puzzle includes a “spangram,” a special theme word (or words) describing the puzzle’s theme and connecting two opposite sides of the board. The discovery of the spangram will be highlighted in yellow.
The aim is to finish the puzzle swiftly while minimizing the use of hints.
