Connections is the newest puzzle game from the New York Times. Your challenge is to categorize 16 words into four secret groups by uncovering how the words relate to each other. The puzzle resets daily at midnight with varying levels of difficulty. Similar to Wordle, you can track your winning streak and compete with friends.
Some days the puzzles are more challenging than others. If you’re struggling with today’s Connections puzzle, check out our helpful tips and hints below. And if you still need assistance, we’ll reveal today’s answers at the end.
How to play Connections
In Connections, you’ll see a grid of 16 words, and your task is to group them into four sets of four by identifying the connections among them. These connections could be related to video game franchises, book sequels, shades of red, chain restaurant names, and more.
Some words might seem to fit multiple themes, but there’s only one correct answer. You can shuffle the grid to better visualize potential connections.
Each group is color-coded, with yellow being the easiest to decipher, followed by green, blue, and purple.
Select four words and click ‘Submit’. If correct, the words will be removed, revealing the connecting theme. Guess incorrectly, and it will count as a mistake. You have four mistakes allowed before the game ends.
