Joanna Strober, at around 47, experienced sleeplessness due to perimenopause. It took multiple providers and out-of-pocket expenses for her to get the proper diagnosis and treatment. This realization led her to launch Midi Health, a telehealth platform focused on helping women in midlife connect with providers trained in perimenopause and menopause symptoms.
Strober’s “aha” moment was delayed until the U.S. government changed telehealth rules during the pandemic. This allowed Midi Health to bring care directly to women via their digital platform. Strober recognized the opportunity to address a long-standing issue using telehealth and felt compelled to start the company.
Midi Health distinguishes itself from other digital health startups by building lasting relationships between women and their care providers, rather than offering quick one-off treatments. This approach has enabled Midi Health to secure VC funding and grow steadily.
Strober’s background in digital health startups and venture capital influenced her decisions in building Midi Health. With a recent $60 million Series B funding round, the company plans to expand care services related to perimenopause and menopause, including sexual wellness, hair and skin care, and access to testosterone.
Perimenopause and menopause are significant markets, and Midi Health is focused on meeting the diverse health needs of women during this life stage. By prioritizing expert care and building a trusted healthcare brand, Midi Health aims to provide continuous support to women.
