Connections is the newest puzzle game from the New York Times. Players are challenged to categorize a pool of 16 words into four secret groups by identifying how the words are related to each other. The puzzle resets daily at midnight with varying difficulty levels. Like Wordle, players can track their winning streak and compete with friends.
Some puzzles may be more challenging than others. If you’re struggling with today’s Connections puzzle, check out our helpful tips and hints below. And if you’re still stumped, the answers for today’s puzzle will be revealed at the end.
How to play Connections
In Connections, players are presented with a grid of 16 words and must organize them into four sets of four by identifying the connections between them. These connections could be related to video game franchises, book series, colors, or chain restaurant names.
While some words may seem to fit multiple themes, there is only one correct answer. Players can shuffle the word grid to better visualize potential connections.
Each group is color-coded, with yellow being the easiest to decipher, followed by green, blue, and purple groups.
Select four words and click Submit. If correct, the words will be removed from the grid, and the connecting theme will be revealed. Incorrect guesses count as mistakes, with only four allowed before the game ends.
