Unfortunately, one of the beloved casters in the esports scene, CaptainFlowers, will not be attending MSI 2024 this season.
CaptainFlowers Absent from MSI Broadcasting Team
Clayton “CaptainFlowers” Raines, a well-known LoL shout caster, will not be part of the broadcasting team at MSI this year. He has been a constant presence in the LCS and international events for years.
On his social media account, CaptainFlowers announced that he declined the invite to MSI this season due to personal reasons. He mentioned struggles with his sleep schedule and the potential impact of long travel hours to Chengdu, China, where the tournament will take place.
Additionally, CaptainFlowers is allergic to soy, a common ingredient in Chinese cuisine, which could pose a risk to his health. He expressed concerns about navigating food options with his allergy, especially in a foreign country where he cannot read or speak the language fluently. This led to his decision to take a break and prioritize his well-being.
As a result, CaptainFlowers will be taking the month of May off to recharge before the start of the LCS Summer Split. Despite his absence, he expressed confidence in his colleagues to deliver a stellar performance during MSI.
With CaptainFlowers missing from the broadcast talent lineup, fans will have to wait for the official announcement of who will be part of the broadcasting team for MSI in China. The tournament is set to begin with the play-in stage on May 1.
