Mark Rubin, the executive producer of XDefiant at Ubisoft, recently provided an update on the game via social media. After a successful playtest, the final tuning efforts are currently underway behind closed doors. Once completed, the full release date for the game will be announced. The latest playtest saw top-tier creators revisiting the game and offering positive feedback to Ubisoft.
Originally planned for release last year, XDefiant has faced delays due to development challenges and rumors of mismanagement within the team. Despite the obstacles, Ubisoft has worked tirelessly to prepare the game for launch, and it seems that the release date may just be weeks away.
In a recent Twitter update, Mark Rubin shared that the Server Test Session went well in terms of scale and server stability. The team is now focusing on addressing tuning issues, including Delta-01 errors, health bar accuracy delays, and matchmaking algorithm issues. These concerns are being or have already been addressed by Ubisoft.
There is hope that XDefiant will be released before Call of Duty 2024 in June to capitalize on the current gap in the shooter market. However, the game may face tough competition from Black Ops Gulf War, expected to launch in November. Ubisoft needs to establish a strong player base before the release of this new title to avoid being overshadowed.
